Tignes

Tignes is a ski resort located in L’Espace Killy ski area along with its neighboring resort Val d’Isere. As a whole, L’ Espace Killy ski area offers a divers 300 kilometres of piste and over 100 shops and restaurants.
Skiing is the most popular activity, even in the low season and summer season. The majority of the runs are blues and reds well-suited to intermediate skiers; however, there are some green and black runs as well.
There are plenty of off-piste activities in Tignes. Visit the resort’s snow park for freestyle ski or boardercross. Swim in the pool or slide down the waterslide at Le Lagon. Trade your skis for wheels and bike at the Bikepark Tignes.
Dine at one of the resort’s many delicious restaurants, ranging from casual and traditional cuisine (Le Grenier) to gourmet and fine dining (La Table en Montagne). One of the most fun and unique restaurants to dine in is Panoramic with a luxury atmosphere and stunning panoramic view from the top of the Grande Motte Glacier.

The Tignes Dam was built in 1952. After it was built, the resort had to move to higher altitude and the old resort was submerged.
The Grande Motte Glacier is a 3,656 metre summit that makes the resort’s nearly year-round ski season possible.
