Making a Reservation


Do I have to put down a damage deposit?

Yes, unfortunately so. In a perfect world we would not have to ask you for a damage deposit, but it gives the owner of the vacation home a piece of mind. As soon as you have completed your stay, we will refund the full deposit back to you. With most of the vacation homes, however, the deposit is taken by our local partner once you reach your final destination.


How much is the damage deposit?

It varies between each property and what each vacation rental owner has decided. Find the individual vacation home you are interested in, click on "Inquiry" or “Book now” (Available on select rentals) and you will be taken to the full trip details.


When will I receive the refund for the damage deposit?

The refund is normally done within 20 business days after your departure from the property. For the highly unlikely event it takes longer than this, you should notify us and we will resolve the issue the fastest possible.


What payment options do you offer?

You can pay with major credit cards and debit cards such as Amex, Visa, Mastercard and Diners or with a bank wire transfer. Cash in the mail is so 1985.


I have reserved a vacation home. When do I have to pay?

Great! After you have received an email confirmation of your reservation, 50% of the total rental fees are due within 2 days from the day you made your reservation. The remaining 50% are due when there are 45 or more days left to your arrival date.

If you made your reservation less than 45 days before the date of your arrival, 100% of the total rental fees are due within 2 days from the date you made your reservation. 


Is it safe to pay my reservation online?

Yes. LuxVacation.com uses the highest possible encryption- and safety standards.


Do you save or store my credit card details when I pay?

No. As soon as you have made your departure from the vacation home and we have refunded your damage deposit (if it was done by us and not our partner), we remove all records of your card details.


General & Travel Questions


What if I have to cancel my reservation?

Should you need to cancel your reservation for whatever reason, you must notify us by email or regular mail. Payments made by you may be fully, partially or non-refundable, depending on the terms specified in your Booking Agreement.


What about Travel Insurance, should I buy that?

Yes, we strongly recommend that you do. What is covered depends on your insurance provider, but normal things such as medical emergencies, theft and loss should be covered. We understand that unforeseen things can happen and if you would need to cancel or delay your reservation, at least you are financially covered.


How do I know where my vacation home is located once I arrive at the destination?

The complete arrival information for your destination and home will be provided to you well in advance.

In addition to that, depending on the destination you have chosen, a driver will greet you at the airport and take you there. Just sit back and enjoy the scenery from the passenger seat.


What about the keys to access the vacation home?

One of our local representatives will meet you at the airport or at the property to give you your keys. The same representative will also give you a tour of the home and its amenities, including any secret rooms and lairs.


What if there is a problem with the vacation home, who do I contact?

All vacation homes offered by us have a manager on site or a local management company who are available to respond to any issues. Contact information, as well as other important local phone numbers, are given to you before your arrival.
